MOTORISTS are being urged to drive carefully as snow and ice cause disruption across the country.
The Met Office has issued yellow warnings for snow and ice across much of Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.
The A9 in the Highlands was closed at Dalwhinnie after a lorry jack-knifed in snowy conditions around 5.20am, blocking both carriageways.

Road operators have been working to keep routes clear.
Stein Connelly, of Traffic Scotland, told BBC Good Morning Scotland: “We’ve got 148 gritters out and we are seeing some heavy snowfall on some of the routes so it’s challenging driving conditions.
“We’ve had 148 gritters out right through the night, we’re working to make sure the roads are open and safe to use. ”
Traffic Scotland urged drivers planning on travelling on the M8 from Glasgow to Edinburgh to use an alternative route due to the wintry weather conditions and queuing traffic.
