A MAN has suffered serious injuries after being allegedly attacked with a chainsaw at a Dundee golf course yesterday afternoon.
More than 10 police vehicles rushed to Caird Park golf course at around 4pm after reports that a man had slashed another man in the club’s car park.
The 67-year-old victim was rushed to Ninewells Hospital after suffering a number of deep cuts to his body, however his injuries are not said to be life-threatening.
Speaking at the scene yesterday, Detective Sergeant Graeme Wishart said: “At 4pm this afternoon, police were called to an incident report that someone had been assaulted at a golf course in Dundee.
“One person is believed to be responsible for the incident and that person – a 44-year-old male – has been traced nearby and he has been arrested and is in police custody.
“I can confirm a chainsaw was used in the attack.
“The victim was conscious and able to speak to officers when they attended here.”
