Edinburgh has been found to be the best UK city to start an AirBnb business.

New research has found that Edinburgh is the best city in the UK to start an AirBnb business.

In comparison to other popular UK hotspots, including Manchester, London and Liverpool, Edinburgh has come out on top on a number of key factors.

In order to ensure the city had what owners and guests were looking for, the research, conducted by Love2Laundry chose measuring factors that fulfil both the owner and guests’ needs and wants.

The factors that were taken into consideration for the owner of the Airbnb business were the number of staying visits, average price charged per night, average house price and council tax cost.

The factors that we considered for the guests were number of restaurants, culture and transport.

The research found that although London has over 17,000 more staying visits than Edinburgh, owners can still make more money on their AirBnb business in Edinburgh.

Short term holiday rentals in Edinburgh  charge on average slightly more than London, with an average nightly cost of £256 in comparison to London’s £214.

Edinburgh has the lowest council tax costs as well as having more cultural activities and restaurant options per person than London.

And, although Edinburgh property owners can charge slightly more per night for their holiday rentals, the average property prices in Edinburgh are a fraction of those in London.

The average cost of a house in London is £729,134, while in Edinburgh it is £227,700.

Other cities fared well in the findings, including Liverpool and Manchester, with both ranking high for cultural activities and lower property prices.
