THE Edinburgh International Film Festival will host a family gala screening of Incredibles 2 on its opening weekend, organisers have announced.
The Disney-Pixar film, sequel to The Incredibles, will be shown on Sunday June 24 at 2pm at the Festival Theatre in Edinburgh.
There will also be a school screening for local students at 10am on Monday June 25.
The main programme of the 72nd EIFF, which runs from June 20 to July 1, will be announced on May 23.
Organisers said they are pleased to be hosting the screenings of Incredibles 2.
Mark Adams, EIFF artistic director, said: “The Incredibles won hearts the world over with its fun and exciting adventures and it’s an honour to be continuing our long-standing relationship with Disney and Pixar Animation Studios to deliver this special, superpowered sequel to our younger audiences and their families.”
Tickets for the family gala are available now through the EIFF website.
Festival organisers said the Family Gala builds on Disney’s longstanding relationship with EIFF, which has hosted gala screenings of Disney Pixar’s Academy award-winning WALL-E, Toy Story 3, Inside Out and Finding Dory in recent years.
Incredibles 2 will be released in UK cinemas on July 13 this year.
