Olga Koch begins a relentlessly hilarious hour by donning a cowboy hat and entering the stage to Shania Twain’s Man, I Feel Like a Woman.
It’s the perfect start to Just Friends, a show that is unsurprisingly a hot ticket at this year’s festival.
With confident energy and effortless magnetism, Koch has the audience captivated as she takes us on a roller coaster romcom ride through relationships and sexuality.
She covers ‘hoe culture’, her surprising number of visits to the Mamma Mia immersive experience, Captain Tom and The Bachelorette before indulging us in the tale of a recent romantic interest giving off mixed signals.
Edinburgh Fringe Q&A: Olga Koch on bringing her chaotic romcom to the festival
The audience barely has a chance to draw breath between laughs in a fiery, filthy and funny 60 minutes that flies by leaving you blushing and buckled in equal measures.
For this show she even has Bruce Springsteen (ok, a man from New Jersey) in the front row on hand to read out texts – a nice little device to get the crowd involved.
Snap up tickets for the remaining dates fast, as this is an unmissable show from a performer in top form.
It’s worth mentioning too that Koch is donating £1 from every ticket and also the bucket contributions at the end to Stonewall’s work in aid of the Ukrainian LGBTQ+ community.
