The host city for next year’s Eurovision will be revealed during BBC’s The One Show on Friday evening.
Glasgow and Liverpool are vying for the honour of hosting the song contest on behalf of this year’s winners Ukraine.
Graham Norton will make the announcement of who will host and the date of the grand finale live on BBC One this evening.
Birmingham, Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffield and Manchester had been in the running until the shortlist was whittled down to two last month.
The UK took on 2023 hosting duties after it was decided that the event couldn’t be safely held in Ukraine following Russia’s invasion.
Ukrainian entry Kalush Orchestra triumphed at the 2022 competition in Turin, Italy, with the UK’s Sam Ryder finishing second.
It will be the first time Glasgow or Liverpool has hosted the event.
Edinburgh is the only Scottish city to have hosted Eurovision, with the Usher Hall having the honour in 1972.
It was also the fictional host in the Netflix film Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, starring Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdam.
In the movie however, Glasgow’s OVO Hydro doubled as the arena in which the event was taking place.
