FERRY operators CalMac are being put under pressure by hoards of Runrig fans desperate to see the band’s last performance.
The Gaelic rockers are to retire after 45 years, with a series of goodbye shows on August 17 and 18.
Runrig has a large fanbase in the Western Isles, with hundreds of residents rushing to arrange travel to Stirling where the Last Dance shows will take place.
Flights were quickly booked up and now CalMac says its ferry services from Stornoway are filling up too.
Its MV Loch Seaforth vessel is nearing its 700-passenger capacity and on some crossings the space for vehicles is completely full up.
