One of Scotland’s best-loved record shops closed its doors for the last time yesterday.
Fopp, in Glasgow’s west end, has been a favourite with generations of music fans since it first opened as a market stall in 1981 before taking up its spot on Byres Road.
The company went into administration in 2007 when it was bought by HMV.
Canadian firm Sunrise Records then bought HMV out of administration in February last year.
But it announced that 27 stores would close, including the Byres Road Fopp store.
Customers paid tribute to Fopp on social media yesterday.
One posted: “Thanks for being there over the years. Best shop in Glasgow – easily.”
