An event which has been labelled ‘the first of its kind in a decade’ will look behind the scenes of iconic Scottish comic, the Beano.
The panel event, hosted by Comics Salopia in Shrewsbury, will see Beano editor John Anderson joined by four of the renowned children’s comic’s top artists and writers.
They include Nigel Parkinson, Laura Howell, Lew Stringer and Hunt Emerson.
The event, An Audience with the Beano, will take place on 1 and 2 June this year and promises to be filled with as much laughter and mischief as the characters in the humorous comic itself.
Audiences will be able to find out all they’ve ever wanted to know about Dennis the Menace, Gnasher, Billy Whizz, Rodger the Dodger and all the rest of the Beano gang from their weekly creators.
The panel will look behind the scenes at how the UK’s longest running children’s comic magazine is created, looking at some of the 3000+ editions published by DC Thomson.
They’ll also explore how the comic has not only survived but thrived with kids of all ages across the last 80 years, as it enters its ninth decade of publication.
