THE first Cadbury’s white chocolate Creme Egg has been found down south.
As part of a marketing campaign, the confectionery giant has offered cash prizes for finding each of the estimated 371 white eggs sent out to shops around the country.
Luton nursery manager Natasha Bream was the first lucky winner.
She told The Sun that she had picked up three eggs in her local Tesco Express store, with the first one she opened turning out to be a coveted white chocolate version, earning her £1000.
Cadbury’s launch white Creme Egg… and lucky egg hunters will be in a chance of winning £1000
Anyone that finds one will be provided with a number to call inside the packaging to find out which level of prize they’ve won.
Most will be worth £100 or £200 but selected eggs could land the holder £2000.
There’s been a race to find the first egg since their launch at the start of the year.
And eagle-eyed chocolate fans quickly discovered that the ingredients list on the outside would be a giveaway to whether or not the wrapper would contain a regular egg or something a little more valuable.
A Cadbury spokesperson said: “All white Cadbury Creme Eggs, whilst wrapped in the same iconic packaging as the classic creme egg, will contain nutritional information that is specific to the white chocolate variant.
“It is a legal requirement for all food manufacturers to display all ingredients on the packaging.”
Some shop workers have also been accused of going through their supplies of the eggs hoping to find one for themselves.
Some customers have also complained that they’ve found whole displays in shops where the eggs’ wrappers have clearly been tampered with by their fellow shoppers.
For those curious about what the white chocolate version tastes like, Natasha said she had not yet sampled the egg.
And yes, there are still twelve weeks to go until Easter!
