RACHEL LUGO is one of the stars of ITVBe’s ever-popular The Real Housewives of Cheshire.
The glamorous reality show is back for a new series.
Rachel and her husband John are property tycoons and live in the exclusive Cheshire enclave of Alderley Edge.
They have five children, Francesca, 20, William, 18, Sophia, 15, Oliver 13 and Sienna, seven.
I can’t wait for holidays to come around as it’s the only time we’re all really properly together now.
Because they’re all different ages, they have their own interests but they still want to come on family holidays with us.
There’s nothing nicer than looking along the seats on the aircraft and thinking, ‘Yes, they’re all here’.
We do so much planning before we go anywhere. For weeks in advance we’ll be booking tickets, organising excursions, everything.
Florida is the perfect place for a big family like ours and we go just about every year – who doesn’t love a theme park!
You can be sure of entertaining a broad age range as there literally is something for everyone.
My favourite is Animal Kingdom, I’d go there every day, but the kids have their own places.
We used to have a house in Florida and we’d go for five or six weeks during the summer.
Now we tend to go away for two weeks because we also go and stay with my sister who stays in Marbella.
Puerto Banus is such a lovely place and because she has two boys ages with two of my children, it’s great for them to hang out together.
While it’s obviously fantastic being away as a family, John and I love the Caribbean and a real favourite was when we got to Mustique just the two of us.
It was absolutely idyllic, very lush, green and beautiful.
We had our own private pool and it’s such a tiny island you go round it on a golf buggy.
In fact, it’s so tiny that you have to get there by a little private plane.
If the wind catches you the wrong way, then it can be a little bit hairy. And the runway is quite short, so you’re wondering if you’re going to make it.
But once you’re down and you’ve gone through the airport building – which is just like a big shed – you really know you’re somewhere remote.
