CELTIC captain Scott Brown says Shaun Maloney would be ideal for the Hoops’ under-20s coaching role.

Maloney, who is also wanted by Aberdeen, is in talks over a return to the Glasgow club in a move that would mean giving up his playing career at the age of 34. (Daily Mail)

The Evening Express reports that the Dons, however, have not given up on bringing the attacker to Pittodrie.

Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn could be set for a return to Sunderland.

The 27-year-old scored 16 goals last season but his place in Pedro Caixinha’s squad is under threat with the arrival of Alfredo Morelos and Eduardo Herrera. (Daily Mirror)

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports that Wigan midfielder Max Power is interesting the Ibrox club.

The 24-year-old could be available for around £500,000.

Experienced defender Gordon Greer has returned to Kilmarnock.

The 36-year-old made 107 appearances for Killie before moving to Doncaster in 2007.

Chelsea are interested in Leicester midfielder Danny Drinkwater, according to the Daily Mail, who report that the England international is on a list which also includes Bayern Munich’s Renato Sanchez, Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Everton’s Ross Barkley.

The Daily Mirror say Barkley will have to lower his wage demands to join Tottenham, who are not willing to pay the £120,000-a-week wages the 23-year-old England midfielder turned down at Goodison Park.
