TONY WATT is training with Aberdeen having left Belgian side Oud-Heverlee Leuven.
The former Celtic striker is aiming to keep fitness levels up with rules keeping him from signing for a new club until the summer.
Watt, who netted a famous goal in the Hoops’ win against Barcelona in 2012, shares an agent with Dons boss Derek McInnes.
It is understood there are no plans at the moment for the player to join the club when he is able to do so.
The 24-year-old told Si Ferry’s Open Goal earlier this week that he did have the chance to join Aberdeen in 2014, but opted to head for Belgium instead.
He said: “Derek McInnes was brilliant and was always phoning my agent.
“He was the right manager for me but I just needed to get out of Scotland at that time, so I was buzzing about Belgium.”
A youth product of Airdrie United, Watt joined boyhood heroes Celtic in 2011, scoring 7 goals in 25 appearances.
He then headed for Standard Liege after a loan spell at Lierse.
After a move to Charlton in 2015, he was loaned out to Cardiff, Blackburn and Hearts before ending up back in Belgium at OH Leuven.
He has one Scotland cap, having made his debut in a friendly against the Czech Republic in March 2016.
