MOTORHEAD founding member Edward Clarke has died aged 67.

The guitarist, who was the last surviving member of the band’s classic line-up, had been battling pneumonia.

A post on the band’s Facebook page said: “We are devastated to pass on the news we only just heard ourselves earlier tonight…Edward Allan Clarke – or as we all know and love him Fast Eddie Clarke – passed away peacefully yesterday.

“Fast Eddie…keep roaring, rockin’ and rollin’ up there as goddamit man, your Motörfamily would expect nothing less!!!”

Band member Phil Campbell said: “Just heard the sad news that Fast Eddie Clarke has passed away. Such a shock, he will be remembered for his iconic riffs and was a true rock n roller. RIP Eddie.”

Clarke played on the band’s self-titled debut album in 1977 and also on 1979 releases Overkill and Bomber, 1980’s Ace of Spaces and 1982’s Iron Fist.

He, alongside frontman Lemmy and drummer Phil Taylor, are considered Motorhead’s classic line-up.

Lemmy died in late 2015 from prostate cancer and heart failure, while Taylor died seven weeks earlier from liver failure.
