FOR Game of Thrones fans, it’s the ultimate holiday destination.
The impressive SnowVillage in Finland has teamed up with HBO Nordic to create a winter wonderland that’s sure to delight fans of the hit series.
A whopping 20 million kilos of snow and 350 000 kilos of natural ice are used to build the spectacular venue which changes in shape, size and theme each year.
Covering an area of about 20 000 square metres, the SnowVillage consists of a Snow Hotel, cinema, ice restaurant and ice bar.
This year, the entire hotel is inspired by George RR Martin’s fantasy saga – with rooms designed by sculptors from Russia, Poland, Latvia and Ukraine.
The biggest Game of Thrones fans could even tie the knot in the unique venue’s snow chapel.
The incredible ice-scape can be found in Kittilä, which is around 90 minutes from Helsinki.
The intricate carvings include the Hall of Faces, the iconic Iron Throne, The Mountain, white walkers and of course, dragons.
Temperatures in the SnowVillage can dip as low as minus 5C, so guests are provided with thermal sleeping bags and a hot berry juice to warm up in the morning.
The icy temperatures and white walkers will have you feeling like a wildling roaming north of the wall. Watch out for the ice dragons!
If you’d like to have a nosy SnowVillage also offers guided tours of the site and even have snowmobile safaris for travellers wishing to catch a glimpse of the northern lights.
