Mrs Brown’s Boys actor Gary Hollywood and his wife Cherylanne have exclusively revealed they are expecting a baby after the heartbreak of miscarriage.
The popular Glasgow actor and BAFTA winner spoke of his delight yesterday moments after he and his wife were told they are expecting a baby boy after Cherylanne underwent a 15-week scan.
Gary, 44, who is a proud ambassador for The Sunday Post’s Big Braw Community campaign to end loneliness across Scotland, said: “We can hardly contain our excitement and happiness at the wonderful news.”
Cherylanne, 35, said: “Our hearts are bursting with joy.
“Last year we lost a precious baby just 12 weeks into the pregnancy.
“It was so devastatingly painful, I worried I would ever be strong enough to face the possibility of another miscarriage.
“But Gary and I decided we had to try again for Ollie’s sake as he has constantly been asking when he is going to have a brother or sister. Now we can’t wait to get home and tell him our news.”
The couple married five years ago in a surprise ceremony after catching relatives and friends out by inviting them to celebrate Cherylanne’s birthday.
Ollie was born four years ago, and he has been eagerly awaiting a new addition to the family.
Gary said: “We told Ollie we are having a rainbow baby, but he is determined he’s getting a sister.”
Cherylanne said: “He’s been telling me to eat lots of pink cake so we have a little girl.”
