Jewellery from Karen Duncan
Karen Duncan was born in Orkney and grew up on Burray, one of the southern isles of Orkney. While still at school she started making jewellery. Her hobby grew into a passion and then a full-time profession spanning over 30 years.
From her workshop on the island of Burray, Karen creates distinctive and beautifully finished pieces, which incorporate geometric shapes and intricate detail, inspired by the shapes and textures of the Orkney landscape and its rich heritage.
With stunning views overlooking Water Sound and one of the Churchill Barrier’s which link her home island of Burray to the Orkney mainland, Karen’s workshop is where she is happiest. The view from the window provides daily inspiration for new designs, allowing Karen to experiment with different textures and colours, perfecting each piece before it is crafted, finished and packaged up ready for sale. Her versatility, understanding of materials and attention to detail result in jewellery made with passion, care and precision, delivered from her home to your home.
Have a little piece of Orkney when you purchase jewellery on Karen Duncan’s website.
Spirits from Badachro Distillery
The story behind Badachro Distillery is like something out of a fairy tale. Owners Gordon and Vanessa Quinn met at the Badachro Inn, married 12 weeks later, travelled the world, then returned to their spiritual home to set up the distillery.
But if that early whirlwind romance seems ripped straight from the pages of Hans Christian Andersen, the distillery’s fortunes have since taken it to the top of the bestseller list.
The distillery exports its popular gin, vodka and whisky to ten countries around the world, including Canada and Taiwan, as well as nurturing an ever-growing fanbase on home soil.
“We’re still very firmly rooted in Scotland, though, and we’re proud of our heritage. Wherever possible we source our materials here – whether that’s botanicals, outsourced marketing and admin support, or packaging.
Five gins – Badachro, Coastal, 57o Storm Strength, Raspberry and Orangey Orains – provide a taste of the land and the coast around Wester Ross.
Dancing Puffin Vodka represents the playful side of the village, and its cheeky puffin mascot has become a firm favourite with vodka fans around the world.
And the distillery’s whisky showcases the heritage of the Highlands, and the whisky distillers that have called it home for centuries. The signature tuscan oak expression in the Bad na h-Achlaise series is a medium peated single malt that’s become popular the world over.

Jewellery from Sheila Fleet
Sheila Fleet OBE is one of Scotland’s leading designer-makers of gold, silver and platinum jewellery, and has been involved in the industry for over 50 years.
Establishing Sheila Fleet Jewellery in 1993, Sheila has designed many collections and has gained a worldwide following. All of Sheila’s jewellery is designed, made and finished at her Orkney workshop-by-the-sea, just off the north tip of Scotland.
Her latest collection, Holly Blue Butterfly, launched this summer and is already loved by many! Available in a range of designs and sizes, the collection is suitable for all ages. Sheila’s inspiration for the collection took flight after a Red Admiral butterfly in Sheila’s garden landed on her granddaughter, Holly’s head. The unique Butterfly collection has been beautifully designed and crafted by Sheila’s skilled jewellers. All designs are hand-enamelled in a range of colourways, depending on your choice of Butterfly.
Be inspired by all the pieces in the collection by visiting Sheila Fleet’s website.
