A Glasgow restaurant is celebrating this weekend’s World Buckfast Day by creating a special tonic wine flavoured pizza.
Pizza Punks, known for their innovative selection of toppings, have teamed up with Buckfast’s makers to help create the celebratory dish.
Only available on Saturday, the 12 inch pizza will be topped with beef brisket infused with the Devonshire wine,
Along with San Marzano tomato, basil & sauce, haggis and tender stem broccoli, the celebratory pizza will include potato scone and pulled pork infused with the country’s ‘other’ national drink, Irn Bru.
Pizza Punks branches in Newcastle and Belfast will have their own regional variations too, incorporating chipotle and chocolate pulled pork, with the Tyneside branch adding hash browns, and potato bread added in Belfast.
The limited edition pizza will be available for guests to enjoy in-store, for delivery or collection at a price of £10.
