GRAEME MURTY has left his post as Rangers manager.
The 43-year-old has stepped down with three games to go until the end of the season.
It comes in the wake of his side’s humiliating 5-0 defeat at the hands of rivals Celtic.
Rangers are currently in talks with Steven Gerrard about taking over as manager next season, but it is as yet unclear who will be in charge come Saturday’s match against Kilmarnock.
It is likely to be assistant boss Jimmy Nicholl, but no confirmation has come from the club at this time.
Murty replaced Pedro Caixinha on an interim basis in October and was given the job until the end of the season in December.
But a number of poor results and a statement from Dave King made it clear that he would not be taking on the role on a permanent basis.
Sunday’s humiliation at the hands of their Old Firm rivals, who wrapped up their seventh title in a row in the process, would turn out to be Murty’s final match in charge.
Neither Murty nor any of his players spoke to the media after the match at Celtic Park.
