THE October break is upon us and parents will be wondering how they are going to keep the kids happy this school holiday.

Aberdeen

Bouncing is fun

Get your kids to burn off some energy by paying a visit to Jump In Trampoline Park, Aberdeen. Once you arrive your kids can jump and tumble their way across wall-to-wall trampolines.

The super springy trampolines have been designed to take huge weights which means your littluns won’t have to take a running jump – the bounce does the work for them.

The Linx Ice Arena inside Sport Aberdeen is a national sized ice pad measuring 56 x 26 metres with spectator seating for 1,100 people.

Treasure hunters get all the glory!

Calling all budding spies: the Aberdeen self-guided spy themed Treasure Trail needs you to solve the clues and save the day.

Great for all ages from 6 and up, explore outdoors and discover fascinating facts and snippets of local history as you become a secret agent in Aberdeen. Clear directions will guide you around a 2.25-mile route as you seek and solve the clues in order to crack the code.

Perth

Water babies

Boasting six swimming pools, Perth Leisure Pool is one of Scotland’s most popular aquatic attractions.

The free form Leisure Pool includes two fast and furious flumes, a wild water channel, poolside whirlpools and bubble beds for some down time!

The exotic outdoor lagoon is also a family favourite, whether in tropical summer sun or icy winter snow.

Crazy for golf

Noahs Ark Golf Centre is a family friendly mini golf course which is housed on a tropical Florida style course but designed with an eye to the Scottish weather, with all 18 holes being floodlit and 9 of them under cover.

It’s worth noting that this is not crazy or adventure golf: don’t let the kids go in expecting dinosaurs and pirates and whatnot, this is every bit real golf in miniature.

Culture vulture

Pay a visit to Balhousie Castle sits on the edge of the North Inch in Perth. The castle dates back to the 12th century and offers a whole host of family friendly activities.

The resident Black Watch Museum tells the story of the iconic Black Watch Regiment from 1725.

Why not stop by their award-winning café where you and the children can enjoy a delicious selection of hot and cold food.

Stirling / Falkirk

Art attack

While away a day at The Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum.

This fun family friendly venue tells the story of Stirling including models of people at work and play and lots of interesting artefacts.

There are changing exhibitions too, so check their site for half term activities.

Park life

Kings Park in Falkirk is a wonderful place to spend a day. Facilities here include tennis courts, toddler swings, climbing frames, slides, a helter-skelter, bridges, tyre swings, trampolines and a cool floodlit wheelie Park for skateboards, skates and BMX bikes with a variety of ramps and grind rails.

There’s even play for grown ups with 12 pieces of outdoor gym equipment designed for over 14s!
