Unplug and connect with nature at Glenesk Holiday Park, located in picturesque Aberdeenshire.

Holiday homes in Aberdeenshire have plenty of things to offer. But those in Glenesk Holiday Park are worth your investment. Here’s why.

There are places where you immediately feel you’re on holiday as soon as you arrive. One of those special places is Glenesk Holiday Park.

It’s located in a magical setting in picturesque Aberdeenshire surrounded by tranquil woodland and friendly wildlife.

There’s a forest trek on the park itself and a man-made loch where you can enjoy fishing for hours.

The Park has a man-made loch where you can enjoy fishing.

Just across the road is the famous Blue Door Walk that leads up to the iconic Rocks of Solitude, visited by thousands and thousands of people every year.

The Park is right in the bottom of Deeside, leading up to a beautiful vantage spot called Cairn o’mount. From there, you can see for miles and enjoy panoramic views of all the mountains and the glens.

There’s also a lot of other things to do nearby like paddle boarding, paintball and laser tag.

History buffs can visit the local folk museum while golfers will be happy to know the Park is two miles from the nine-hole parkland course, Edzell Golf Club.

Nicola Hutchison, who does marketing and sales for Glenesk Holiday Park says: “There’s a lot of great adventures that can be easily accessed from the Park.

“It’s so close to nature. But it’s also got great links to explore the rest of Scotland. It’s in that nice middle area where you can get to Inverness or you could get to Edinburgh very easily.”

Newly refurbished park

After years of being a camp site for mobile caravans, Glenesk Holiday Park has been refurbished with upgraded infrastructure, including electric and plumbing, and new landscaping.

All the holiday homes are brand-new. Nicola says: “There are one or two that are a few years old but they’re all a high quality standard of holiday home there.

“There are big new plots for the homes so they’re all nicely separated. They’ve got a good amount of space around them. They all have their own decking area, their own parking space as well as having the option to install a private hot tub.”

Exclusive benefits

There’s also a newly renovated building where there’s a gourmet café that’s open to the public.

The building also houses a modern office space, a gym and a sauna.

Nicola explains: “So anyone who purchases a holiday home at the park will get a membership to have exclusive access to all these leisure facilities since they are closed to the general public.

“A membership doesn’t cost you anything extra. You get that as part of your ownership here. That’s part of your benefits. They can extend that to their family and friends as well.

A great investment

A home in Glenesk Holiday Park can also be an amazing source of income.

Nicola explains: “Owners have the freedom to rent out their holiday homes and the park takes zero commission from them. The revenues you get are entirely yours.

“Some people might buy a holiday home for personal use and it’s strictly for themselves and their families. Other people might say, we want to use that but we’re happy to rent it out two or three months of the year when we’re not able to use it.

“And then there’ll be other folk who will buy multiple ones. They’ll say this one’s mine and that one I’m going to rent out all year long.

“The park will support any customer who wants to go down that pathway. We will put you in touch with the relevant people who can help you with your bookings, turnover, cleaning, laundry and things like that.

“But the park doesn’t take any commission. That’s quite a unique point because other parks will charge 20% or so on every single booking that they have.”

“Memberships can also be transferred to the guests who are renting from the homeowners. So the guests can use the facilities like the gym and sauna whilst they are there.

Try before you buy

If you’re unsure about buying a holiday home at Glenesk Holiday Park, then why not try it out first?

Nicola points out: “That gives you a chance to explore the area and pop down to the village. You can use the facilities and, while you’re there, chat to the owners and see what they think of the place.

“Rather than coming down for a couple of hours and then trying to make a decision, it’s nicer to immerse yourself and the whole experience for a couple of days and see how you find it.”
