Craigtoun Meadows is a little slice of heaven in Fife. Known as “the quiet holiday park in St Andrews”, it’s a haven of tranquillity in one of the most picturesque parts of Scotland.

Located just 1.5 miles from St Andrews town centre, it is perfect for anyone wanting to base themselves at the Auld Grey Toun.

Craigtoun Meadows is also the only holiday park to have been awarded five stars by VisitScotland and five Platinum Pennants by the AA. It also has a five-star rating on Trip Advisor with more than 80 ‘excellent’ reviews.

So what’s the secret to its success?

An atmosphere like no other

Craigtoun Meadows Holiday Park offers a serene environment to its guests.

Craigtoun carefully maintains a peaceful and quiet park. Its customer base is almost entirely families and retired couples. So there are no rowdy holiday groups breaking your calm and relaxation.

One way Craigtoun Meadows maintains that environment is that, unlike many other holiday parks, they do not let the owners of their lodges and caravans rent them out privately. It helps them to keep on top of who uses the park and how many people are there at any one time.

Customer Service Director Dion Graves says: “We’re known as the quiet holiday park in St Andrews. We only allow family and friends to use our owners’ lodges. It limits the traffic you get on the park and makes it a safer place.”

You can’t beat a holiday park in St Andrews

St Andrews is one of the most desirable tourist destinations in Scotland.

There’s no doubt that Craigtoun Meadows has one of Scotland’s most enviable locations. This idyllic corner of Fife is a holidaymaker’s dream. There are miles of coastal walks and trails to help you explore the stunning countryside. You also have your pick of a number of beautiful beaches, with white sands and crested waves.

Dundee is only a short drive away if you want to enjoy the delights of attractions such as the V&A. There are even two Michelin-star restaurants within easy reach.

And then, of course, there’s St Andrews. Guests at the park can take advantage of being based at the Home of Golf itself with its historic Old Course and many other outstanding links. But there are a host of other attractions to the town, including its castle, cathedral and multitude of quirky shops, tea rooms, bars and restaurants.

A commitment to comfort and luxury

Craigtoun Meadows has a range of outstanding accommodation. The park offers guests a choice of lodges and static caravans to hire. These spacious properties are all equipped with central heating and double glazing. The park’s Eden lodges have luxuries including three-piece suites, flat screen TVs in the lounge and bedrooms, and an en-suite to the master bedroom. The well-equipped kitchens include fridge-freezer, gas cooker, microwave and dishwasher.

There are also Little Lodges which offer a ‘glamping experience’ along with sites for touring caravans and tents.

Lodges and caravans are also available to buy for people who want their own idyllic spot to visit on a regular basis. The process is simple and can be arranged by contacting the site. Twin-unit lodges come with a 30-year licence on the site while single-units are for 14 years. Buyers can use them all year round except for February.

If you want a holiday home that lets you enjoy the very best of what Fife has to offer, why not try Craigtoun Meadows Holiday Park?
