A new probe is to be carried out to try to establish what caused the death of a Scot found in a London flat.
Ramsay Urquhart, 33, was discovered in a pool of blood with items, including his laptop, missing from his room.
Police ruled his death, in April last year, was “unexplained but not suspicious” but his family believe he may have been attacked.
A coroner has now instructed a review, including tasking a forensic pathologist to look into the cause of his death, ahead of an inquest.
His father Murdo, of Keith, Moray, said: “My objective remains to find out what happened to my son.
“Our hope is for a full re-investigation which will uncover exactly what happened to Ramsay.”
Murdo called Police Scotland around 2pm on April 17 last year to say he had not heard from his son, who was diabetic, for four days.
Met officers did not get to his flat in East Ham until just after midnight.
The officers found Ramsay wrapped tightly in a duvet in “quite a large amount of blood”.
A police report states the officers who went assessed the death as “unexplained but not suspicious”.
A post mortem said the death was “unascertained”.
