HEARTS have announced that Ian Cathro is to leave the club with immediate effect.
The head coach had come under fire for the Tynecastle side’s poor start to the season, including being knocked out of the Betfred Cup in the group stage.
A club statement said: “The Board wishes it to be known that this was a very difficult decision, reluctantly made, as every member of the Board recognises that Ian is an extremely talented young coach with a very bright future ahead of him.
“We thank Ian for all of his efforts and wish him well in the future.”
The Jambos are set to make a further announcement regarding who will be in charge when Hearts start their Premiership season against Celtic this weekend.
