Luther star Idris Elba has married for the third time by tying the knot with beauty queen Sabrina Dhowre in Morocco.
The 46-year-old actor and the 29-year-old former Miss Vancouver wed during a lavish three-day celebration.
The bride wore a stunning, off-the-shoulder ivory gown by Vera Wang. Elba, tipped to be the next James Bond, wore a smart bespoke suit by Savile Row tailor Ozwald Boateng that 007 would have been proud of.
The couple exchanged vows at the Ksar Char Bagh hotel in Marrakesh on Friday. The night before the ceremony, friends and family attended a “colours of the souk” themed dinner.
Yesterday, a party was held at the £1,000-a-night five-star Mandarin Oriental hotel.
The couple were guests at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding last year.
But their own wedding was a much more private affair.
The bride’s sister Fatima wrote on Instagram: “Congrats to my sis and big bro! Most beautiful wedding by far.”
Sabrina held her hen do at a ranch in Utah in the United States last month, posting photos on social media, but Elba was tight-lipped about his stag do.
The couple had been dating for two years, first meeting in Canada where Elba was making the film The Mountain Between Us with Kate Winslet.
Elba proposed in January last year before the screening in London of his film Yardie, which he directed.
He later described his bended-knee proposal as the “most nerve-wracking thing for me ever”.
He added: “But in terms of wanting to make someone feel super special and feel my love, that was pretty romantic for me.”
Elba has previously been married twice, tying the knot with make-up artist Hanne Norgaard in 1999 and lawyer Sonya Nicole Hamlin in 2006.
His big break as an actor was appearing in the acclaimed HBO TV series The Wire, before going on to star as DCI John Luther in the BBC crime drama Luther.
He is one of the frontrunners to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond, alongside Richard Madden and Tom Hiddleston.
Bookmakers are offering odds of 11/2 on him becoming the next 007.
In November, he was voted the Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine.
Earlier this month he showed off his DJ skills by playing a set at the Coachella festival in California.
