BRENDAN RODGERS’ first game in charge of Celtic was one of the most humiliating results in the club’s history.
Losing 1-0 to Gibraltar minnows Lincoln Red Imps was hardly the ideal start for him, but the Hoops got back on track and made it to the group stages.
Celtic finished bottom of their group despite impressive draws home and away with Manchester City.
A heavy 7-0 defeat to Barcelona, however, set the tone for an early exit.
This season, Celtic eased through the first qualifiers and survived a scare against Astana to make it to the group stage once again.
But once again Rodgers’ side ran into Neymar and PSG dominated the Hoops home and away with an aggregate score of 12-1 as the Paris club flexed their European muscle.
Celtic performed slightly better against German champions Bayern Munich, but still recorded two defeats.
With an impressive away win at Anderlecht, Celtic look good to finish third in the group and seal a spot in the Europa League after Christmas.
They still have a match against the Belgian side to determine the final standings.
