AN autism assistance dog, a guide dog, a bull terrier and a military dog are all in the running for an award at Crufts.
The annual Eukanuba Friends for Life competition celebrates the unique relationship people have with their dogs.
Four furry friends are up for the prize, which will be announced on the final day of the world’s largest dog show in March.
Autism assistance dog Caddie, a Labrador retriever, has completely changed the life of 13 year-old Joel Sayer, giving him the courage to leave his house and face the world.
Guide dog Hudson, also a Labrador retriever, has inspired owner Nathan Edge to train for the England blind football team after he lost his sight as a result of juvenile arthritis.
Bull Terrier Bowser saved the life of his owner, Sally Deegan who has MS – after she collapsed unconscious.
And completing the final four is military dog Charlie, who sniffs out explosives and is currently on his fourth operational tour in Afghanistan with the British Army.
The winner of the competition will receive £5,000 from the Kennel Club Charitable Trust for the dog charity of their choice, with the other finalists receiving £1,000 for their chosen dog charity.
People can vote for their favourite until midday on March 12, on www.crufts.org.uk/content/eukanuba-friends-for-life.
The winner will be revealed in the Genting Arena at Crufts in Birmingham on March 12.
