HMS Defender has arrived back on the Clyde this morning ahead of a Navy open day.
The Type 45 destroyer, which was launched in Glasgow ten years ago, will welcome visitors aboard for tours on Sunday.
It’s the first time the ship has been back in Glasgow since 2013.

Her duties while in service over the past decade have included escorting Russian navy ships close to UK waters, as well as being deployed as an air defence escort for the French carrier Charles De Gaulle off Syria.
She has also been involved in operations against drug smuggling and humanitarian missions.

Unfortunately for those who haven’t yet snapped up free tickets, briefs for the tours have now sold out.
The ship will be berthed in Glasgow’s King George V Dock all weekend.
