A Scots shopping centre has transformed its ice rink into a roller skating arena for the summer.
The ice has been melted at intu Braehead’s curling rink and transformed with special lighting, a sound system playing disco classics and a giant glitter ball.
The venue was relaunched yesterday with one of Scotland’s top freestyle roller skaters, Jim Whyte, paying a visit to check it out for himself ahead of the start of public sessions this weekend.
They’ll continue until August 11, with two-hour sessions starting at 11am each day and going on until 6pm.
The sessions are aimed at families as well as regular roller skaters and there are skates for hire at the venue.
David Lyon, marketing manager for intu Braehead, said: “We’re definitely rolling out the welcome mat for everyone to enjoy a brand new fun activity we’ve never had at intu Braehead before.
“The curling rink has been completely transformed with special lighting, a sound system playing some disco classics and of course, the disco ball that will give everyone some glitter as they wheel around the rink.”
