Rangers boss Steven Gerrard will consult with medical staff before deciding whether or not to return Alfredo Morelos to action tonight against Ross County.
The striker hasn’t played a competitive fixture since being sent off in the Ibrox side’s win over Celtic on December 29.
Gerrard told Rangers TV: “Alfredo has had a small calf problem. I need to check with the medical staff what the right decision to do with Alfredo is because we do not want to put him in with any risk.
“But it’s good to have him back available in the squad. We have a lot of games coming up, so I’ll make the right decision that is not a risk to the player.”
Morelos is Rangers’ top goalscorer this season, netting 28 in 35 appearances.
His absence through suspension has been felt in the three matches Rangers have played since returning from the winter break, most notably in the defeat to Hearts at Tynecastle.
Skipper James Tavernier has also been missing through injury, but has returned to training and is anticipated to make a comeback in Saturday’s match against Aberdeen.
US defender Matt Polster looks set to be handed a starting place at right back for tonight’s clash against Ross County at Ibrox ahead of Jon Flanagan, who he replaced at half time at Tynecastle.
