Jean McArthur, 80, from Ellon, has been married to Cameron for 59 years.
Mum to Jeffery and Valorie, she has three grandchildren: Natasha, Lewis and Hilary.
Jean loves being out and still meets up regularly with school pals.
She worked in retail and home care and, at 65, took on a cleaning job.
Here, she shares her favourite snaps.
My pride and joy
This is my eldest grandchild Natasha, with her boyfriend Jon, and me at my husband Cameron’s 80th birthday celebrations at Gordon Highlanders Museum in Aberdeen.
I love spending time with them. Natasha is a hairdresser and always makes sure my locks are looking nice.
She keeps me busy, too. I make lots of Scottish tablet for her clients to enjoy in her hair salon in Ellon.
Surprise visitors
This picture was taken when my son, Jeff, and his daughter, Hilary, decided to pop at my house to visit on their way home to Banff after a shopping trip.
Probably something to do with the fact that there is always a cup of tea and a “fine piece” waiting at grandma Jean’s. I love seeing my family and it’s great when they stop in.
Well done, son
Here we are at my grandson Lewis’s graduation (that’s Cameron, far left, Lewis’s lovely Irish girlfriend, Chloe, Lewis and me).
It was a proud day for me, seeing my only grandson graduating with a masters in mechanical engineering.
We had a lovely meal together after the ceremony.
Again, we created lots of great memories.
Bite of the Big Apple
Cameron and I love travelling. Here we are on the trip of a lifetime to New York about five years ago.
We’ve been all around. My favourites are Vancouver in Canada, Saint Martin in the Caribbean last year, and Singapore, which we visited in 2000. We are looking forward to our diamond anniversary cruise to Australia and New Zealand in March next year. We will be catching up with family who moved there in the ’60s.
