POLICE Scotland is advising residents of Inverness to be aware of potential bogus workmen offering gardening services and household goods for sale.
Reports have been made to police within the last week by householders in the Kinmylies area who were cold called by men offering services and goods for sale .
Constable Allan Cameron, who is leading the investigation, said: “Please be mindful of people cold calling you and offering services , goods or household items for sale.
“If the price appears too good to be true this is likely for good reason.
“Any work carried out by such individuals may prove to be substandard, goods may not meet safety requirements or may even prove to be stolen.
“As always, I would appeal for anyone with information about bogus workmen or suspicious people to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference NN4916/18, or via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous.”
