OFFICIALS at Donald Trump’s Turnberry hotel have banned Irn-Bru over fears it may stain the carpets.
Guests reportedly requested Scotland’s other national drink at a recent event but were denied.
Turnberry general manager Ralph Porciani told The Ayrshire Post: “We can’t have it staining when to replace the ballroom carpet would be £500,000 alone.
“We have villas here with Irn-Bru stains in the carpets which I can’t let.”
The fizzy drink is notoriously tricky to remove from carpets if spilled, mostly due to the colourants used.
It has even been used as a benchmark to test carpet cleaners.
