IT has been revealed today that Kezia Dugdale received £70,000 for her appearance on reality show I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
Income tax was paid in both the UK and Australia, making her total earnings around £45,000.
The Labour MSP donated £5,100 of the fee to charity.
Three organisations were selected by the parliamentary staff who ran her office while she was in Australia.
Receiving donations were Who Cares? Scotland, Glasgow Women’s Aid and the Archie Foundation.
Before her stint on the ITV show, Ms Dugdale also donated her £2,500 parliamentary salary for her time spent in Australia to the Rock Trust.
Kezia Dugdale said she was ‘delighted’ that the charities would be benefitting.
She said: “I’m pleased that a number of charities which do amazing work across Scotland will benefit financially from this.
“I’m delighted to be back in the Parliament serving my constituents across the Lothians.
“I held more than 30 surgeries across the region in 2017 and I will continue to be an open and accessible MSP throughout 2018 and beyond.”
