SCOTTISH Labour leader Kezia Dugdale will reveal her party’s new industrial strategy at a campaign launch on Thursday.
The scheme to grow Scotland’s economy will focus on increasing jobs and productivity, and supporting local business.
The strategy is part of the party’s summer campaign – For The Many – which will examine a programme of issues each week including health, education and the cost of living.
Speaking ahead of the launch in Edinburgh, Ms Dugdale said: “Scottish Labour firmly believes that a strategy for industry should be a top priority for any Scottish Government.
“We need a Scottish Government with a plan for jobs and economic development.
“That’s why our new industrial strategy is the starting point for our summer campaign For The Many.
“After more than a decade in power in Scotland, the SNP is presiding over a struggling economy while schools have thousands of fewer teachers and NHS workers are under-valued and over-stretched.
“It’s time for Nicola Sturgeon to get back to the day job. Over the course of summer, we will put forward Labour’s positive alternative for a country that is run for the many, not the few.”
