POLICE have launched a murder inquiry after a woman was found dead in a back garden.
Officers were called to the scene at Alexander Place, Kirkintilloch, around 3.40pm on Wednesday.
The body of a 33-year-old woman, who reportedly had stab wounds, was found in the back garden of the property in the East Dunbartonshire town.
Police are treating the death as murder and have put up several cordons in the area as they investigate.
A police spokesman said: “A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course, however enquiries carried out by officers indicate that the woman’s death is suspicious and a murder inquiry has been launched.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and enquiries are ongoing.”
