PASTRY chef and chocolatier Sebastian Kobelt has been named Chocolatier of the Year at this year’s Scottish Food Awards.
From his shop in Linlithgow, Sebastian supplies some of the finest hotels and restaurants in Scotland with his hand crafted chocolates including The Gleneagles and The Waldorf Astoria.
He came up tops in the Specialist Chef category of the awards.
The winners were announced at a glittering awards ceremony and dinner, held at The Principal Edinburgh, on Sunday 20th May. The awards celebrate the people, organisations and destinations behind the amazing food produced, served and enjoyed in Scotland.
Commenting on the awards, Sebastian said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have been recognised at the Scottish Food Awards especially as I was up against some stiff competition. For me, this is a stamp of recognition specially since we are just about to launch our online shop.
“My passion for my craft shows in everything I do and I strive to continue my family tradition of creating high-quality artisan products, such as hand-crafted chocolates and continental patisserie, with focus on flavours, seasonality and uniqueness.
A former World Chocolate Masters finalist, Sebastian has attained a number of accolades and awards over the years including “Scottish Pâtisserie of the year” 2017 for his Linlithgow shop.
