I DON’T have to tell you how disappointed I was with the result in the Champions League Final.
Mo Salah going off injured early on was a blow for Liverpool, but most of the focus was on Loris Karius.
I feel for the lad. He’ll be having a hard time.
What’s worse for him is that he is not at the club, surrounded by people who would be helping him through it, day by day.
Normally, everyone would have been at Anfield to help him overcome the adversity.
But it’s the close season, and everyone is away doing their own thing.
Loris showed tremendous courage to front up at the end of the game.
There would have been many who would have shot down the tunnel and into hiding.
All that said, you can’t take away from Real Madrid’s victory, or the goal Gareth Bale scored to make it 2-1.
For him to get his timing perfect, his accuracy pinpoint and have so much power in that overhead kick was just incredible.
He deserves enormous praise.
But Liverpool will be back. They achieved plenty in the past nine months, and will strengthen the squad to have another go in the next campaign.
