Spending Christmas on your own is never easy, as Emmerdale’s Moira will find out this year.
Natalie Robb, who plays “Mucky Moira” says her character is reaching a low this Christmas after a set-to with Cain over her affair with Nate.
“Moira ends up spending Christmas on her own, unfortunately,” explained Natalie, “Bless her.”
“But she’s her own worst enemy at the minute, she is on self-destruct. She thinks everyone has lost faith in her and she’s ashamed of herself.
“Moira knows that she’s made a mistake and is thinking ‘what’s the point?’
“I think her son, Matty, is trying to be cruel to be kind with what he’s doing.
“He knows she’s been in bad places before but doesn’t agree with what she did.
“It was very out of character for her to do what she did and cheat on Cain.
“There’s a lot of other things emotionally that were catching up with her and that’s why she felt a bit numb and didn’t really know what she was doing at the time.
“She really has hit rock-bottom. She’s using drink as a crutch and goes on a real downward spiral.”
Meanwhile, visitors on Christmas Day are never easy but it looks like Jacob, David, Leyla and Pollard will have a particularly troublesome guest.
On Christmas morning their idyllic morning is shattered when Jacob opens the front door to find a baby on the doorstep. They discover a note signed from Maya, but are initially not convinced it’s from her.
They are sceptical that the disgraced teacher could really be behind it but most Emmerdale viewers probably wouldn’t put it past her.
David decides they should keep quiet about the infant until they can find out more – well, it is Christmas.
Elsewhere, Rhona’s feeling guilty over her plans to leave Emmerdale with Graham and Leo, knowing Marlon is going to have his heart broken.
Later, Graham receives the DNA test result and is quick to read it. Kim’s blood runs cold when the penny drops Graham and Rhona have done their own DNA test on Millie, despite her preventative measures.
Meanwhile, at Home Farm, Kim fumes to see he has bought Millie a present and heads out to return the gift, revealing she knows he’s done a secret DNA test.
Elsewhere, Graham’s mood darkens when he witnesses an encounter between Rhona, Leo and Paddy and it leaves him feeling removed.
Later at Home Farm, Graham bursts in, leaving Andrea and Kim fearful of what he might do or say.
And soon after mud-slinging and revelations, things reach fever pitch…
