A MAN recovered from the River Tay in Dundee this afternoon has died, police have said.
The man, understood to be in his sixties, was recovered from the water and taken to Ninewells Hospital where he was unable to be revived.
Police Scotland along with Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and HM Coastguard has attended the incident at the city’s Camperdown Docks shortly after 1pm in response to reports of a person in the water.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing to identify him and notify his next of kin at this time, and also to establish the circumstances as to how he came to be in the river.
“If you believe you have any information which could assist us, please call 101 or speak with any Police officer. Our reference is incident 1339 of 3rd April.”
