THE Commonwealth Games get underway today in Australia’s Gold Coast.
The opening ceremony, at 7:55pm local time (10:55am in the UK) will kick things off, with athletes from across the globe parading round the stadium with their nation’s flag.

There are 224 Scots competing in the Games (131 Men and 93 Women) across a number of events between now and April 15.
Glasgow hosted the previous games, therefore Team Scotland’s flag bearer Eilidh Doyle will lead the Parade of Nations into the Carrara Stadium for the opening ceremony.
