Edith Russell, from Lauder in the Borders, loves children – and that could only be a good thing as the taxi firm owner has three sons, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Edith, 64, loves nothing more than spending time with them, as well as husband of 45 years, Jock. Here she shares her favourite family snaps with us…
Happy holidays
This is me with my two eldest grandkids, Sophie and Cuillin, on holiday back in 2009 in the Highlands.
I have been taking my grandkids on holidays for almost 20 years to the four corners of the country.
We love it because its a good way to spend quality time with them – and holidays are always fun.
Even in Scotland if its pouring with rain we can always find something to do that brings a smile to the kids’ faces.
Dressing up fun
This is our family competing in the village fancy dress competition. We won it for the third time in a row with this Peter Rabbit theme.
My youngest granddaughters are avid fans, and they were the stories I used to read to my children.
I was Old Brown, but we also had Peter, Flopsy, Mr Tod, and Mr McGregor to name a few.
Cuddle time
Here we are, out for a family birthday meal for my eldest son.
We had a lovely meal – but then Eden and Adaira spontaneously decided to cuddle granny and grumpa, as they like to call him.
My husband Jock and I see the grandchildren almost every night, and often see them two or even three times a day.
We have a close relationship which means none of us can bear the thought of ever moving too far away.
Paradise found
This is the family on a visit to Boon Hole, our little piece of paradise, just outside the village where we live.
I am with grandchildren Eden, Adaira and Ruby heading there in preparation for a spot of fishing and dip in the river Leader on a sunny summer afternoon.
They couldn’t wait to put their frilly swimsuits on!
