Every week we take a peek into a reader’s family photo album.
Isobel MacInnes, 71, from Balloch, marks her 50th wedding anniversary with husband Donnie, 70 on Friday.
Izzy, a retired shop manager, loves to travel. The couple have two children and four grandkids and are never happier than when they’re with their family.
Holiday highs
We love to travel and are very lucky to be able to afford such beautiful holidays.
This picture was taken from the rooftop infinity pool at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore as part of a tour we took of Malaysia and Singapore. The views were incredible, and the food and service were wonderful.
Since retiring, we are able to travel more. I used to be manageress at McDermids convenience store in Dumbarton and until recently Donnie worked in the oil industry in Nigeria.
Family matters
This was taken at Loch Lomond on son Alan’s 40th birthday a few years ago. I love and cherish every moment with family.
Our daughter Elaine and husband John have two sons, Scott and Ewan, and Alan and his wife Kelly also have two sons, Ben and Jake.
I retired to help raise them so their parents could work. It has been a pleasure and privilege.
African adventures
Here are Donnie and I in South Africa. This picture was taken when we travelled the Garden Route a few years ago.
It was an incredible experience and an amazing place for Donnie and I to chill out.
We have also taken the Rovos Rail train from Pretoria to Cape Town and have been to one of Africa’s greatest attractions, Victoria Falls, on the Zambezi River between Zimbabwe and Zambia.
It is spectacular.
Friend indeed
This picture was taken earlier this year while on holiday with my daughter Elaine on Spain’s the Costa Del Sol.
We try to keep a few days free every year so that we can spend precious mother and daughter time together.
I feel truly blessed to be able to have that time with her, she’s my best friend.
