Customer services manager Lorna Rankin is a grandma whose greatest love is spending time with family, especially grandkids Carly, eight, Finlay, three, and Jacob, six months.
Lorna, 50, lives in Aberdeen with husband Jim, 60. Between them, the couple have three sons, Steven, 29, Jamie, 25, and Dylan, 20. Here Lorna shares her favourite snaps.
Special surprise
Over Christmas Jim and I went on a cruise to Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and to mark our 50th and 60th birthdays. We had an amazing time.
We went to Universal Studios in Singapore. Jim was desperate to see the Minions from Despicable Me and we had photos taken with Shrek. Fiona I planned a major surprise for Jim – the renewal of our wedding vows on a beach in Phuket. Before the big event, we swam with elephants at a sanctuary which was incredible.
Spooky times
Life for us is all about having fun, especially with the grandchildren. This picture was taken on Halloween 2018. Carly had been ill and had missed the Brownies’ Hallowe’en party.
When she was feeling better, Jim and I bought a load of spooky props and costumes and threw a wee party for her. This is the three of us all dressed up.
Picture perfect… to cap it all
Carly and Jacob are Steven’s children. Here, the two of them are posing for a professional photoshoot with Evie Brown Photography of Aberdeenshire.
Evie is a fabulous professional family photographer who captured them perfectly and can be found on her Facebook page.
I love this picture so much. It’s beautiful.
Young and fun
Jamie is also a professional photographer but doesn’t specialise in portraiture. So we were especially thrilled with this gorgeous photo he took of his son – our grandson – Finlay.
It’s a great shot. We love our three grandchildren with all our hearts.
They’ve brought such joy to our lives and we couldn’t imagine a life without them.
