A WOMAN seriously injured in a fire which killed her boyfriend has said she is “getting stronger every day” and thanked everyone who helped her.
Rebecca Williams, 24, was initially in a critical condition following the blaze at her boyfriend Cameron Logan’s family home in Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire on New Year’s Day.
She has now been discharged from hospital.
Blair Logan, 26, appeared in court on Monday charged with murdering his brother and was remanded in custody.
Ms Williams is a broadcast journalist at Heart, part of Global Radio.
In an article on the Heart website, staff said their colleague had asked them to make a statement on her behalf.
Ms Williams said: “I want to say thank you to everyone who’s helped me.
“I am so grateful to the fire crews, paramedics and police officers, and to all the hospital staff who have looked after me.
“I’m getting stronger every day, with my family and friends around me.”
Ms Williams was rescued from the Achray Place house and was initially treated at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow before being moved to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
Mr Logan’s parents were taken to hospital and treated for smoke inhalation. The family dog Gomez died in the fire.
Cameron Logan, 23, was a psychology student.
Blair Logan was also charged with assault to severe injury, danger to life and attempted murder when he appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court.
