MOTHERWELL have parted company with manager Mark McGhee, the club have announced.
It comes after a succession of poor results, including a 5-1 home defeat to Dundee on Saturday, which has left the Lanarkshire club just three points off the bottom of the Premiership table.
A statement on Motherwell’s website said: “The decision, taken by the Board following consultation with the ‘Well Society, comes after a disappointing run of results, culminating in Saturday’s loss at home to Dundee.”
It added: “The club wishes to thank Mark for his work during his second spell at Fir Park, particularly getting the club into the top-six during the 2015/16 season and wish him every success in the future.”
Stephen Robinson will take charge, assisted by James McFadden and Stephen Craigan, while the search for a new manager is ongoing.
