MSPs have been given safety guidance after a spate of suspicious packages being sent to politicians.
There have been three incidents in the past week which are described as being ‘associated with the forthcoming UK general election.’
Emergency services attended the Kirkintilloch office of SNP MP John Nicolson on Tuesday, while an anthrax threat letter was delivered to council offices in Forfar yesterday, thought to contain the message ‘Get SNP out. Tories in’.

A third package, which police described as being a ‘white powder type substance’ was also sent to a political party headquarters.
