When she isn’t working at her day job as a therapist in her own practice, Edinburgh-based Margi Rosam can be found seeking out the best foodie spots across the capital and beyond.
The mum-of-four is originally from Australia but now calls New Town home. We asked her for her favourite spots to soak up the best Scotland has to offer.
Seventy One Steps
This is my favourite brunch spot in Edinburgh. It is the sibling bakery to the original Bearded Baker, situated in Canonmills.
I absolutely love it here, especially sitting in one of the window seats as the daily sun shines in, enjoying my bagel, coffee and (famous) cinnamon bun. Rowan – the beard behind the bakeries – is renowned in Edinburgh for his amazing bagels, buns. doughnuts and much more. He and his family and team always make sure you are well looked after in their Scandi vibe cafe, their bakes are always fresh and heavenly and the brunch menu is amazing.
Bracken Treehouse
This secluded woodland getaway in Airdit Woods sits above St Andrews and the Eden Estuary.
It really is the perfect getaway to relax, recharge and soak in the beautiful Fife countryside. You feel completely immersed in the woodlands and the nature surrounding.
It has been a labour of love for the wonderful owners Nick and Joy. Their beautiful, stylish treehouse is perched on a cliffside and has all the luxuries you need to feel spoilt in your own private sanctuary, stargazing from the comfort of your bed.
Edinburgh Street Food
A foodie paradise and another of my favourite places to enjoy food and drinks with friends.
It is filled with at least 10 of the best award-winning independent food traders in Scotland offering food from around the globe, including my favourite dessert spot Soft Core.
You have the joy of eating inside or outside, and you order from your table from the different vendors and bars dependent on what your taste buds are desiring, then it is all delivered to your table. It really is the perfect place to hang out with friends and family over the summer, enjoy some amazing food and soak up the atmosphere.
