At this time of year, many people’s idea of a perfect day is wrapping up warm, heading out on a chilly stroll and then cosying down with a hot cuppa.

Eve Jessup is no different. Originally hailing from the Highlands, she makes sure to incorporate nature into her city life.

Here are some of her favourite spots to visit at the moment.

Dornoch

Dornoch Cathedral is a must-visit. Image: Eve Jessup

For all you Gilmore Girls lovers, Dornoch is what I like to call the Stars Hollow of Scotland. Dornoch is a charming town in the Scottish Highlands, known for its picturesque setting along the coast and its rich history. It is home to a beautiful 13th-century cathedral, a world-famous golf club and many amazing small shops and cafes. The town offers a blend of historic charm and natural beauty along with a welcoming community.

Brighid

You will want to relax here for your entire stay. Image: Eve Jessup

Located in Melbost Borve on the Isle of Lewis you can find the most gorgeous holiday home on the whole island. Brighid is the ideal place to escape and unwind whilst looking out over the North Atlantic Ocean. The holiday home boasts a comfy bed, a fully fitted kitchen and, my personal favourite part, a stand-alone bath. The holiday home is about a half-hour drive from Stornoway and is close to many tourist attractions on the island.

The Roost

The Roost in Aberdeen offers a unique and charming twist on the city’s coffee scene. This converted horse trailer serves locally roasted speciality coffee, high-quality baked treats and stunning views over the River Dee.
