Living in rural Scotland, Annabel Wilson is spoilt for choice when it comes to exploring the great outdoors.
The social media manager is, therefore, the perfect person to go to for recommendations for the best places to visit across the country.
Achnasheen Lodge
This gorgeous wee lodge is nestled amongst the Caledonian Pine at the head of Loch a’ Chroisg just outside the village of Achnasheen, just off the NC500. When I’m there I feel like I am in my own wee world, it’s so silent and cosy. Walking distance from the loch for your morning swim and surrounded by munros for an amazing day in the hills. The best combination.
Fionn Bheinn
My love of hills stemmed from this part of Scotland, so it has a special place in my heart. This hill is an easy and safe walk for the whole family with incredible views across the Wester Ross region. I love seeing Loch Fannich on one side and Slioch on the other. To top it off, there is a delicious coffee shop at the bottom called the Midge Bite Cafe. Literally my perfect day out.
Hillbillies Book Shop
This incredible wee bookshop is located in the heart of Gairloch, a coastal village in the north-west highlands. Adjoined is The Mountain Coffee Co overlooking Gairloch beach. For the perfect day out I like to walk and swim on Gairloch beach, then have a monumental hot chocolate at the Mountain Coffee Co followed by a browse in the best bookshop in Scotland.
